About

Me

I lead a web development team for Apollo Education Group, Inc. My team’s role includes developing SharePoint, Salesforce, WordPress, and other web solutions for internal and public audiences. We work as part of a creative services “internal agency” for our corporate communications department and provide solutions for numerous other departments throughout the company and its subsidiaries. See some of our work at www.apollo.edu, Vimeo, and our Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report.

In addition to my personal blog, I have contributed to NothingButSharePoint.com and SharePoint Magazine (page 34). I also contributed a chapter to Black Magic Solutions for White Hat SharePoint. You can follow me on Twitter @joshmcrty.

When I’m not knee-deep in code, I enjoy catching up on the latest tech news, sharpening the saw on new web design/development trends and techniques, and playing PC games.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Ferris State University.

This Website

JoshMcCarty.com is my personal blog. I started it as a way to document my own technology projects and triumphs so I didn’t have to re-learn how to do them in the future. It still serves that purpose, but I also write with an eye toward providing general information for others, not just myself.

I don’t intend to focus on any one particular area of technology; if it’s cool and I think it could be useful for others, I write about it. Hopefully there is something here that is useful or interesting to you.

Thanks for reading!
